History
Thomas was found on the train tracks going somewhere (not sure where!) with purpose. No owner came forward and he didn’t have a microchip so the RSPCA brought him to us. We cared for him and he was signed over to the Epona Trust.
Latest Update
Thomas has taken a long time to settle to being ridden but has now found his “groove” happily doing pony parties, jumping, agility and being pampered by his sponsor.
Thomas has a very expressive face and a strange whinny that surprises many people. He loves to be groomed almost as much as he loves rolling in the mud and is always up to mischief with his partner in crime Peanut.
Thomas is fully sponsored by Lucy, who has written the following poem about him:
The Tale of Thomas the pony.
I know a little pony
Thomas is his name
No one knows where he was going,
Or from where abouts he came.
He was wondering down a railway line
Like a little train
Just like Thomas the tank engine
And that’s how he got his name.
He came to live at Russell’s yard
He had hay and lots of friends,
He was safe and warm
But that’s not where his story ends.
He learnt to wear a saddle,
A bridle and a rug,
He learnt to trust in people
To be brushed and have a hug.
Thomas is a grey,
So really should be white
But rolling in the field and mud
He is generally a sight.
He loves a juicy carrot
And a minty treat or two.
He can be stubborn, cheeky sassy
And quite enjoys a buckeroo.
Lucy is his human
She loves him very much.
Thomas is her inner peace
He calms her with every touch.
Thomas is a chunky chap
With a beautiful flowing mane,
3 white hooves, 1 that’s black
Lucy loves him just the same.
From walking on those railway tracks,
And his very lonely start.
He has found his forever home
At Russel’s and in lucy’s heart.
